Saxonwold Primary School
Ms Marion Wheater
Message from the principal.
If you are a person who can see the potential in South Africa, then Saxonwold Primary is a school which would catch your attention!
We are a relatively small suburban school, situated in the beautiful heart of the leafy suburbs of Forest Town and Saxonwold. Whilst being small in size, we are large in primary school education. Our school mirrors the transformation of our country and not the suburb.
I was appointed as Principal to Saxonwold Primary in April 1994; the same month and year that our country voted for democracy and Nelson Mandela was elected as President. This has been the cornerstone of how I lead this school. Later, the Nelson Mandela Foundation established its home just around the corner from our school, so I am reminded daily of my purpose.
Although education in South Africa may be experiencing difficulties, our children are not! The children at Saxonwold portray the characteristics of the global youth of today. They are “techno savvy”, creative and confident in their roles as young leaders. Our successes are many: in the academic world, on the sports field, in the creative arts and in acts of social awareness. Saxonwold Primary School’s influence is playing itself out in our country.
The ethos of our school is values based, energetic and supportive to all who pass through our gates.
Saxonwold Primary welcomes you.
